Has anyone NOT had problems with TRD Struts and springs?

I'm seriously considering upgrading to TRD cuz im pretty sick of my suspension right now creaking and making funky noises (but not clunking at least) all the time, i think the installer did a crappy job. anyways i was jus wondering for those of you with TRD struts, has anyone had a successful install without all the clunking issues? i really dont have the time or energy to do the install myself, so i want to get a shop to do it but provide them with the correct info and tips to make sure it goes well.

also, aside from the rsb creaking from lack of lube, is it normal for aftermarket springs (ive got teins right now) to creak a little bit in the winter especially. whenever i go over rough roads or bumps, i feel like i can hear my suspension and i dont really like it...

hmmm if the guy did a crappy job then i'd have someone take a look at it but not necessarily change it. We have the same setting but i've had no issues with my Tokico/Tein's in the past.

i know 2 good ones, mahadavi's and batlground.. i think mahadavi's charges like $75/hr and batlground like $65/hr and if I'm not mistaken Smoothro recently got his struts and springs installed at Batlground so if anything, that may be your best option for now. However, Mahadavi's is just as good so it can be whatever... u may be able to find cheaper places but wouldnt know how good of a job they do.

sweet, so you said that your tein/tokico doesnt creak at all or anything on bumps? maybe i can jus take it to them and have them check mine out. could be an issue with just greasing or reseating things....

i got tein/tokico also, no creaking here.

The creaking sound might come from the fact that the springs is not seated correctly on the struts.

My Monroe creaks on speed bumps What is considered spring not seated right. and its only the passenger side and this happened twice

Did you install aftermarket springs yourself? or you got someone to do it? Cuz if you did it yourself... you should already know what i'm talking about. When you put the springs on the struts, there are indentations on the struts where the springs will "seat" snugly. But you're talking about Monroe, perhaps you have stock springs and aftermarket shocks? I don't know what you have really...

hey Rowin, what'cha been up to bro. We still gotta race our Solara's, lol.

Not getting an alignment? Most likely, you're gonna wear out your tires a lot quicker. After you lower your car, and mess around with the front suspension, the toe of the car might be off. If you don't get this fix, your tire will wear out QUICK. As far as performance, depending on how you drive your car, toe/camber/caster (the big three things to look at during an alignment) can all affect your performance. For example, drag racers set their toe a certain way (one wheel positive, one wheel negative) because they only go straight, and thus, they want ultimate stability going straight. But in exchange, their cars will shed more tires. Also, NASCAR cars will set their toes both negative, or both positive ( i don't watch NASCAR, so i forgot which way they travel). The reason they do this, as you might already guess, is that they only turn in one direction.

To make a long story short Rowin... if you lowered your car, go get your alignment checked, and set your toe to 0 and 0, for minimal tire wear :D
