Vibrations after suspension change *update*

I just got my suspension switched from tokico/tein to tokico/eibach today as well as got new brembo rotors installed with hawk pads on all four corners, but it somehow seems to have thrown my whole balance off. The car is vibrating like mad on the highway, almost as bad as when i had a bent wheel. the previous balance was not an 'on the car' balance, it was jus each individual wheel. can someone please help me understand how getting my suspension changed could do this? the guy at butler tire said it could have something to do with the new rotors throwing off my balance. i also noticed the car is pulling to the right, even tho i had an alignment done. so could a bad alignment cause vibrations. please help!!

Your pulling problem is caused by the change in suspension because you changed from Tein springs to Eibach springs, I think with the Tein they have a different drop compared to the Eibachs. As for your vibration, it could be that your wheels aren't tightened or something is loose when you got your suspension done. Hope this helps you.

the teins do have a different drop, but it shouldnt affect the balance of the wheels. i checked teh lugnuts on all four wheels as this was my first suspicion, but they are all tight. i guess ill go back tomorrow and have the alignment checked again. man i thought butler tire would at least do a decent job, grrrr.

Well the Eibach is less of a drop isnt it?

I think i also heard that Tein has a nicer drop (lower in the front then the rear)

the tein is 1.4/1.7 and the eibach is 1.5/1.5.

2/10 of an inch shouldnt really be visibly noticeable, but at any rate, the front looks *higher* with the eibachs, which it shouldn't

The springs prob. are different heights front/rear and also may take some time to settle. As for your pull, did the tires go back to their same locations or were they rotated? It's possible you got a radial pull. May want to try switching sides on the tires and see if it changes anything. As for the vibration, could be loose suspension bits or werent balanced properly. Is it really bad or just slight? I've noticed sometimes when doing brake work that I feel more vibration in the steering wheel till things are broken in. Doesnt sound logical but what I've noticed and then again it wasnt really hugely noticeable.

so i spent about three hours at the shop today and the problem seems vastly improved. although the alignment was in spec, the car was still pulling to the right, so they adjusted it three different times and took it for a drive in between each. they got the camber adjustment pretty close to zero, even tho the tolerance was 0.8 and this helped the problem. the car still pulls slightly to the right at highway speeds but its hardly noticeable. i wonder if this is a common problem for lowered solaras. im sure being lowered with bigger wheels plays a factor, but do you think something could be damaged?

as for the vibrations, i found out that one tire was out of round, which used to be on the back and they had put it on the front, which is why i started feeling it all of a sudden. so i had a road force balance done on all the tires and they did dismount and remount one tire, matching the highs on the tire to the lows on the wheel, which helped the problem. the guy told me that no tire or wheel is perfectly round, so this sort of thing is typical. there is still slight vibration around 70, but i guess ill just have to live with it. i could do a high speed balance but doesnt seem worth the 150 bucks to do it.

150 for a high speed balance? Wow what a sum.

A few things... You may want to re torque your lugs yourself... time after time I have had the various tire shops not do a star pattern when tightening lugs and this has caused I don't know how many warped rotors.

Also if a tire has a bad belt you will get a pull. Swap the front right with the front left tire and see if it pulls the other way.

what's a star pattern, exactly?

as for the swap, they pretty much tried every combo possible and it still pulled right
