ok, you all know me and that I'm rolling on 18's....I'm not into racing and stuff more into chrome and just making my car look clean.....What do you guys think about the new spinner rims. I know they are starting to make them in 18's and 19's......You can't help but to stare when someone stops...

For me, it depends on what they look like. There are some tacky ones... the "truck rim" ones... and there are some decent looking ones. I just saw one this morning on a brand new blacks S500 w/ blacked out taillights. It looked nice... but sort of ghetto because they stick out so much... I've seen a few clean ones... but I think you need a deep lip rim to make it look like it's not sticking out

They are expensive, but as with everything new you have to pay the price....I saw some on a convertable bmw and they looked clean...You are right about the lip it needs to be deep...Probably about 2 inches...

My personal feeling is they don't belong on the solara. They really don't even belong on a car at all. The solara is not a "bling bling" kinda car IMHO. It comes down to personal preference and i'm sure there are some nice spinner wheels out there

well, if what you're after is a clean ride that will get a lot of attention, then I say go for it. It's not my thing, but when I see a car with spinners I know I try and pull up next to em to check 'em out. Get them while they're unique, i'm sure they'll be all over the place before long.

Well if you have existing wheels, you can just buy the spinning hub. They're called "Choppers" I believe. You just bolt them over your existing wheels and that thing will spin. There are many types and designs you can choose also.

i personally feel that spinnin rims do NOT belong on a solara. if anything, they belong on the ghetto fly trucks and SUVs u see rolling around. its more of a bling bling thing. i know if i saw a regular car with spinning rims, i would just look at the driver real funny cuz it doesnt look right to me.

Well, when you see a normal car with spinners then let me now what you think.....You can't really judge if you haven't seen it. Are cars are unique....They are not really racing cars and they are not really big sedans... You can buy choppers, but your rims stillhave to have aleats a 1 inch depth or they are going to stick out really far and chop someone's leg off....: )

I remember hearing about that... stupid kids =\

After hearing that, my mom totally got turned off on the idea of getting a RX330... although she would obviously not have spinning rims or anything...
