Interior Colors for Silver 2006 SLE Conv

My used 2006 Silver SLE Convertible did not come with floor mats. I was told the interior color was dark stone, so I ordered dark stone floor mats online. When they arrived, they are much lighter gray than the carpet. They are supposed to be genuine Toyota floor mats and have the Solara name embroided, but why the difference in color. Shouldn't they match the carpet?

Interior Colors for Silver 2006 SLE Conv

Postby linkgregory » Wed Jan 09, 2008 4:47 pm

Thanks. At first I thought I should have ordered charcoal, but it doesn't look like the 2006 silver convertible came with charcoal interior -- only ivory and dark stone.
Anyone know where I can find a site that shows color correct photos to determine if my interior is indeed dark stone and if the mats are something else?

Nope...it's true. I have the same dark stone interior, and bought new mats. They do not match at all.

It's new mat that don't match, not the ones that came with it when you bought it. When I bought my car, the mats matched.

I got charcoal from the dealershit and they match perfectly. The embroidery was even better quality than the OEMs that came with the car.

Jeff, what's your interior? Mine is Dark Stone, and the Dark stone mats I bought do not match.

If I have Charocal, then the labels were wrong on the car.

Anyone familiar with the interior trim codes enough to decode the C/TR numbers that appear on the label inside the door?
I'm told the digits to the left of the slash indicate the exterior color code and the final four digits indicate the interior trim code. The third and fourth digits of the interior trim code indicates the interior color.

Mine's charcoal. I think Dark Stone is a fabric color standard coupes and SEs - not the leather SLE trim Jerry.

Jeff, I checked the window sticker from when I bought my car, and the interior is listed as Dark Stone. Those are the mats I bought, and they do not match.

2006 Solara Convertible Interior Color

Postby linkgregory » Tue Jan 15, 2008 12:41 pm

I called another dealer to see if they could really tell from the VIN what color the interior is. They told me:
"Our EPC breaks down the VIN further (it knows, by VIN data - not necessarily the VIN numbers themselves - the month of production, which option package, factory installed accessories, etc) and then delineates all parts not relevant. We get the internal trim code (LA10) and then by simply looking at any interior piece we know exactly what the interior color name was."

They told me mine is "Dark Stone". So, I guess like someone suggested, they're making mats today called Dark Stone that match newer years (07-08) interior rather than mine.

My 07 is leather with dark stone. The stock floormats looked silver and clashed terrible. I went round and round with the stealership and they said I had the right ones going off the numbers stamped on the back. I ordered a set of charcoal and they match perfectly.

Here is a shot with original mats, I am so glad I got the charcoal mats to replace them
