I bought my car used and the dealership didn't recommend using the film on a used car because there were some small blemishes already and the film wouldn't adhere properly. I did, however, put it on the headlights, fogs and turn signals for a little extra rock protection. Now a little over a year later, it is starting to "wrinkle" a little :o . I personally wouldn't recommend it.
