hey guys i just got my black renova from Latin... and i just took out the top 3 nuts on the top of the grill but its not budging... is there something i missed? how do you guys remove the original grill?

push the lower back part of the grill it will slide out

damn this crap sucks hahaha it feels like its stuck to the bumper paint or something... is there any flaps i gotta bend back or anything?? or do i just push in the bumper and push from the back of the grill?

There are a couple of tabs that hold the lower end of the grill to the bumper

^ yes there are tabs at the bottom where the grill meets the bumper. place your knees on the bumper and pull. while you hold the bumper from moving while you pull

2 chrome looking tabs right?? im pushing down on them and i got my leg on the bumper and im pushing the grill but still no budge hahaha which way do i put pressure on the tabs?

Try using a taped flathead screwdriver to get under the tab and gently twist as you are pulling out the grill (and supporting the bumper)

Your supposed to pull on the grill Towards you, away from the car, the tabs are supposed to be lifted up

im glad you got it...I used a screw driver and tapped it with a hammer..... "LIGHTLY ""TAP THE tab"

just wanted to bring this thread back... i decided to give it another go at removing the OEM grill but still NO LUCK!! can somebody help me out with pictures to help me do this step by step or any other ways to remove this grill... as always im stuck with removing the top 3 screws... then i trying jimmying those 2 plastic hinges but still NOTHING :drinking: this grill is crazy

i did this, i used 2-3 flatheads. (1 in each tab) .jammed it in the tabs and had them rest downward (buttwise) so the weight caused them to point up. then i pulled up slightly and out, worked like a charm.

is there any other Sg members near SanDiego?? help this guy out???

but i agee w jeff use 3 screwdivers and 3 PPL and wiggle the OEM grill out, with out scratching your bumper...
