I also think about an other route.

- Tranny can be an issue (IPT Tranmission have solution for under 1000$)

I don't remember the other issue aside space and fitting

one thing i think people don't realize is you don't have to have it on the intake manifold. I dunno how much room is in the engine bay on the gen2, but maybe it could sit up front, and then run some piping from the s/c outlet to the throttle body. Take the old jackson racing s/c for the miata...it sat on the driver side of the car above the exhaust manifold and was routed to the throttle body.....or in sport compact car's case....a fmic first. You'll just have to fabricate a collector or some sort for that discharge.

1. $$$, even used
2. has to be spun very fast before you have boost - nothing at immediate WOT

depends of your turbine A/R and trim

VVT-i control...

CAMCON
http://www.powerenterpriseusa.net/products/electric/camcon/camcon.htm

They list I4, I6, new 2GR V6 but nothing on MZ engines.

Thanks for the link.

However: the "test" has the usual faux science and flattering false conclusions:
1. the engine wasn't stock (so a change in peak power is probably higher than it would be on a stock engine)
2. the "baseline" is also misleading in that with the replacement air intake system it "... ran surprisingly rich, with air/fuel ratios right around 10.8:1".

This means that the VVTi mod also cured the mixture problem, so there are 2 gains shown in the "power added", not just the Camcon.
