I just installed a new radio in my 2007 se. Its a pioneer FH-P8000BT. It wasn't too hard thanks to all the info I found on here. I took pics while i was doing it. They're posted as links, b/c i can never seem to get the pics to work in the message.

This is the wire harness of the pac swi ps. for the solara, the white, red and black wires are used. the white wire need to be split into 2 wires, one w/ a 150ohm resistor on it, like this:

The next few pics are taking the vent above the radio off. I found it easier to take out the hazard botton first so i could get my fingers in the hole for some leverage. the vent wasn't easy to get off wand i really thought it was going to break. it pulls streight out towards the back of the car.

next, center console. pull the e-brake up, open the arm rest and the center console pulls streight up. the cubby under the radio pulls towards the back of the car. after its unclipped, move the gear shift back and rotate the cubby top forward. unplug the two wires(aux and cigerate lighter)

the three wire w/ clips on them are used for the steering wheel control adapter. of the 3 plugs that come out of the factory radio, this one doesn't go into the new radio. the yellow wire is for ground and the other two go to the white wire that was split in 2 on the swi ps harness. also, if you dont use a steering wheel adapter, ground the yellow wire anyway. if you don't, the dispaly botton on the steering wheel wont work to show mpg, range ect...

i had to cut some plastic off of the new bracket for the radio/hvac. otherwise, the hvac didn't fit properly. i forgot to take a pic of the radio/hvac put back together ouside of the car, but it will be obvious what needs to be cut when you try to put it together.
