Alright, so im gonna be installing my alpine components this weekend. But im curious how tough a task this will be. How many bolts/screws are there to remove the door panel... I've only seen the one thats in the door handle... If anyone can help explain the steps that would be great.

The one in the door handle comes out (then you have to pry it off CAREFULLY or you'll break it. There is another screw in that area where you put your hand to close the door.

There is another screw close to the upper hinge (covered), and then at the very bottom of the door, theres two more screws.

After you remove all the screws, the panel will snap off.

This might been a bit longer job then you expect. You may have to make new speaker mounts. All the original speakers are only held on by 3 screws a peice. Your new speakers most likely have 4 screw holes.

dont forget that the plate behind the handle that you open the door with is connected by tabs to the handle .you will need to pop them off with a screw driver before the pannel will come off

do yourself a favor and sound deaden the door panel while you are in there. or at the very least buy some non-hardening molding clay from a hobby shop and surround the speaker with it. also put a thin layer between the speaker and the door panel. the clay should only run you about 10 bucks for enough to do both doors. another cheap boost is to take some of that egg crate foam and glue it to the inside of the outer door skin behind the speaker, this helps to destroy backwaves. forget about those rubber mats, ive tried both and the foam is way better
