I didnt paint mine. I just stripped the old orange paint off with nail polish remover. It makes them clear. that was kinda cool but kinda hard to see at night..

ok guys so i got those rings in yesterday and i was trying to install them but i can not get out the black surrounding piece from the dash. how do you do that?

i read it like a week ago and completely forgot! my bad haha but my problem is i have the twor screws out, and i can get the very top and bottom pieces to pull forward but not the part surrounding the clock or the vent. i spent a good 45 minutes earlier trying to get it :bad-words:

These are not from the Solara. They are from the Honda Accord I wrecked this Easter. But it should give you an idea.

The Speedometer needle is completely clear.

The Temp and Gas Gague's are clear on the top but the bottom still has the paint on them. (Easier to see during the day.)

Word of warning about these though. Don't leave your car out in direct sunlight on a hot day because on my car, I either didn't install the left side properly or the heat expanded the ring to where it was touching the temperature needle, making it unable to move. I had to tap on the plastic cover repeatedly and fairly hard just to get it to move to the correct reading.

Haven't Had any problems. Mine will sit in front of the house for a couple days too and nothing. in hot weather too. I still love these things. They make the gauges seem like they are not from early 2000's lol.
