SteveSolara we have a problem

Postby trd4life » Fri Aug 24, 2012 8:17 am

Hey guys. I attempted to settle this over the phone with Steve instead of here and was unable to come to a resolution. I am not quick to post in the section because I cant stand when people do it to me as most of the time it is unjustified. I am trying to be fair here and just state the facts. This is a business transaction , I am not taking this personally I just want this business deal to get settled.

A few weeks ago, I sold Steve a whiteline rear sway bar. He paid me through paypal. He contacted to let me know he had received the bar and all was good.

Fastforward to a few days ago paypal calls me to let me know they have frozen my account, AND, removed $130 from my account. There is an investigation going on. So i'm like WTF he has his sway bar ,tracking shows it was delivered AND he told me had it. Paypal's reason? SteveSolara called his credit card company and reported that the transaction was unauthorized. So his credit card company pulls the money from paypal and gives Steve his money back.

So my paypal account is frozen meaning I temporarily cant use it for my business, I'm out $130, AND, SteveSolara is riding around with my swaybar on his car.

We spoke on the phone and Steve basically says that his debit card was stolen, his account was compromised, and his credit card company is disputing all charges. WHY ARE YOU DISPUTING OUR SWAY BAR SALE THOUGH? Steve why would you tell the credit card company to dispute the sway bar transaction? Why wouldnt you offer to send me a money order or something to square up with me? This also makes me look bad with paypal, I run a business on paypal I dont want paypal forming opinions or putting a strike on my record BECAUSE YOUR DEBIT CARD GOT LIFTED THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ME.

Thing you could do to fix this

1) send me $130 money order ($110 plus paypal $20 fee)
2) Call paypal and tell them that our swaybar transaction was indeed legitimate
3) Call your credit card company and tell them the same thing above.

Steve, its not really the money I am concerned about its the more the fact that you have really put me in a tough spot with my paypal account being froze. I cant accept payments, which affects my family.

Please fix this Steve.

I completely forgot about money order. I will send you that $130. As for the Bank I called up and they said if the transaction has already been disputed they can not do anything. I also mentioned the problem with your paypal account being Frozen and they said to call paypal..... wtf. I explained to them saying your paypal is very important and it is basically your business. All I can do now is keep on calling them (Paypal & Bank) and bug them until they give you access back to your paypal. That is my top priority now. I will do ASAP, Plus I have school and looking for jobs :(

props on gabe's part for not kicking off his post with a barrage of insults about steve's character, and props to steve for not being all sensitive and defensive about it. we've seen posts like this in time past and they don't always turn out civil.

gl with both of you. credit card/debit card disputes can be a bitch to handle.

I called in about 5 times since Friday, and they are still working on figuring out how to free up your paypal. I kept calling paypal and no help from them.

While dealing with credit card companies and possibly paypal are a complete bitch and take forever, a money order or Western Union to at least reimburse gabe for the swaybar is only fair. I get that they charge for both, but if the part was delivered and on the car it is only right to pay the $130 plus whatever other charge for a money order would be to at least start to make things right. I know that having your wallet stolen and dealing with credit card fraud sucks balls (did that last year), but some people on here make their living and pay there bills by providing parts and that's a serious thing.

I think the only thing that makes the sales section on the board work is the trust in our community, with out it we couldn't be doing safe business, and even though the money order won't solve all the issues; it will restore the trust.
