Smaay wrote:why did you go cheap on those ebay gasket kits. you really should have gotten the OEM kit. countless times i have run into issues where the ebay kits dont fit, or the gaskets just leak

Really? Well the only gaskets im using off of this are the intake manifold gaskets the exhaust gaskets and the valve cover gaskets anything else thats vital ill be ordering OEM. I got it because it was super cheap. Either way the good stuff i got OEM, Timing belt, water pump, oil pump, pulley tensioner, Head gaskets etc..

UPDATE:

Block is currently being worked on by my buddy and I i have pics in DSLR ill post up later. I only had monday night to work on it so we installed the oil pump assembly and i decided to throw on my ARP studs since it looked nice haha. Today im going again to finsh getting the bottom end put together. This weekend were jumping on the porting for the heads if all goes as planned and the heads are done by monday. Then the engine should be getting dropped back in next week and then its all about hooking things up and what not.

I still got little minor issues i need to take care of first. I still need a clutch i need iridium plugs i need to get my NRG short hub for my new steering wheel. I need to replace the boots on my axles and one of the bolts on the plates for the S/C stripped so i have to go out and find one of those.

Can't wait to see your project completed! It's a shame you're all the way on the other side of the country. Wish I could go to Toyotafest!
