Hey all, I'm installing the jpp header today but it was unsuccessful. Everything was fine until install the rear header. There was that small metal thing that connects to the header (i guess it's connect to the EGR? )is not fit and the 02 sensor was too short for the jpp one. so i need help. Does jpp header suppose come with that little metal thing? or something. I',m confuse i thought it was just bolt on....please help...espicallly Eric Sol if you see this. Please help!!..Thank you.!!

Aren't the EGR tubes different between the manual and the automatic? Perhaps that has something to do with it...

Install difficulty with s/c

Postby RedSolaraGuy » Fri Oct 08, 2004 1:56 pm

Sorry if this has already been talked about in a post. I did a search but didn't get the results I was looking for. I wondered if it was very difficult or even impossible to install the JPP headers/y-pipe with the supercharger installed. Did you guys do it yourselves or take it somewhere to have it done? Thanks in advance for any info.

I was going to buy those headers and I did not because of that reason, you have to get the part from jp. There was a post a long time ago about that.

You can install it with the SC on as the only feasable way to get it on is through the bottom. Removing everything is quite easy and I managed to get everything off in 1 hour. It's the install that takes a long time. Especially if you do it in your garage like me. Eric recommends removing the passenger side upper motor mount and lower rear motor mount then raising the motor about 2-3 inches so you can get the rear header in. I found that not really true as I had to remove the passenger upper mount as well as the transmission mount and the 4 bolts that hold the entire rear mount on as it is impossible to get to the mount bolt. Once I raised the motor 2-3 inches it still takes some effort to manuever it in place and to tighten the bolts.
My best advice is to pay someone to do it. Would I do it again? Yes, but only once to put it in.

You do not need that small metal mount. I have a 5sdp 02 and the small flexible EGR pipe fit perfectly. Can't comment about autos. The O2 sensor clip that holds the wire needs to be taken off. Then you can tie strap the wire to a more appropriate position. I still had a good amount of slack yet for engine movement. Good Luck.
