JPP Y-Pipe+Stock Headers?

JPP Y-Pipe+Stock Headers?

Postby CASTRO » Tue Mar 16, 2004 12:11 am

I was thinking of getting a JPP Y-Pipe and using it for my stock headers right now to get ready for a future upgrade on the headers. Too poor to afford headers plus ypipe since im getting rims, but question is:
Can the JPP ypip fit perfectly with my stock headers on a 97 Camry XLE? its a V6 so its 1MZ motor, but i don know if its a perfect fit. Anyone?

Also, for purchasing the ypipe, what a good price you guys have been getting them for and where (who do i talk to)?

u probably have to go custom to bolt the stock header and y pipe, the jpp are in triangle shape (3 bolts) but OEM are oval shape (2 bolts)

you are contact Eric

search jp performance header solara in google and you should be able to find the jpp website

We have a stock replacement Y. The pic on the site is of the Y for the headers (3 Bolt) but infact it is a 2 bolt stock replacement. The Y's are not interchangable, so if you later want to upgrade to the headers you will have to sell the replacement Y and buy the header/Y combo.

hey thanks for the info eric, i though that i would have to have the y pipe welded on to fit, guess my options just got bigger. Hey Mole, as for the custom pipe, how much does it cost? I just want fatter piping to make up for the high flow issues that might make me lose torque/hp due to the lack of r&d. As for the JP stock replacement, I too am interested in the price. If it is the same as the 3 bolt (429) then i might just wait till the summer to do a header and y pipe combo together.

last question... if i get the header and y pipe combo, would it bolt up to my stock cat back? im thinking of going greddy evo2, but thats in the future so i'd wanna keep my stock system till then.

I know with the jpp headers and y pipe, u might slightly pass the smog check, so what about just the y pipe? I'm very interesting just upgrade the y pipe since it's too hassle for me to get that combo up to my car.

Also, what's with the power issue with just the y pipe?

The oem replacement is $429. If you are worried about smog you can get a obd2 cat, although they are expensive....like an additional $150.
