My question is I am thinking of buying 18'' rims to have on my car during the summer, and put the factory 16'' back on in the winter. Do I have to get my alignment done every time I change the wheels ? If anyone can help that would be great.
Plus I was told once I have the springs and struts added to drive 500 miles and get the alignment checked, hopefully I won't have to have any camber adjustment, if I do anyone know what camber adjustment kit to get for the solara ?
Hey DC, getting an alignment done when you change your tires between seasons is NOT a requirement, however, it's not a bad idea. I personally get my alignment checked twice a year just for maintenance purposes. When you are shelling out big $ for tires, you don't wanna' hafta' replace them due to improper wear, and after all, an alignment is relatively cheap. As for part 2 of your question, there is no such thing as a camber adjustment kit. An alignment shop sets your camber through adjustments of your suspension and by shimming when neccessary.
