I am a former 6th Gen Celica driver. I've had to shop for a "new" car for a little while, and I wanted to go with convertible, ABS, and OBD2, and I was teetering on 96+ 6th Gen Celics and 1rst Gen Solaras. At an auction, I purchased a very used 2001 Solara SLE Convert with 250K and lots of problems. But it is a project car! Through guidance from this forum and a bit of Toyota Nation, I have accomplished a few of my tasks, but I have a laundry list of things I need to do. I have no detailed documentation on the car unfortuneatley, so I am assuming the worse for many things. For now, the drive chain is great, it is mostly comfort and aesthetics at this point now.

Timing Belt / Water Pump (done)
New really good tires (done)
Hub Berings (done)
Top Weatherstripping / realign top (done)
Engine mounts (done)
Headlights blackout / hid / fancy crap (in process)
Megan coilovers / lower about an inch (in process)
New speakers all around (in process)
Amps / custom sub in that space between backseat and strut towers
High amp alternator
Front rotors / brake pads all around
Fancy pants "Android" head unit / DVD
Seat warmers
Convert interior to black and tan
brushed aluminum trim to cover black plastic and fake wood
New upholstery all around
paint and body every panel
expand exhaust / muffler
supercharger (dreaming! probably will replace the engine when/if I do that)

I am expecting to take a year and a half to do all this or more, with me doing most of the work in my free time. While this is a DD, I live close enough to work where I can walk if I don't finish a project by the start of a week. I'll keep ya'll informed as things go on, and I'll get a pic up once I get it lowered in a week (or whenever it isn't freezing outside).
