Jeff,

Just a thought... (No, it's NOT BLINKER FLUID! <-- BONE HEADS!)

Sometimes, LED's do NOT have the correct resistance to properly "load" the TURN SIGNAL relay... (the unit that causes INTERMITTENT OPERATION, or BLINKING) USUALLY, the NON-BLINK or RAPID BLINK situation will show up IMMEDIATELY when you install LED's. If you installed LED's in JUST the fronts, for example, and LATER added LED's to the REAR on the same winker circuit, THIS could ALSO cause the relay to quit working correctly.

Since you indicate NO CHANGE POINTS to the electrical system lately... I'm suspecting one of the following:

1) The LED's you installed previously were NOT quite the correct resistance, but WORKED for awhile, but the improper load prematurely "wore out" the WINKER RELAY... (check the relay)

-OR- (and I'd try this FIRST...)

2) The LED's ARE the cause of the improper resistance, and if you place CONVENTIONAL BULBS in the winkers instead of the LED's, the circuit will go back to WINKING CORRECTLY.

The only OTHER thought that comes to mind is some OXIDIZATION on some or ONE of the contacts of one of the bulbs or bulb sockets. Take them out ONE at a time and use a little nail file board, sandpaper, or small file and "scuff" the bulb contacts clean, and if you can scuff the socket contacts a little as well, do that at the same time.

GOOD LUCK!

(BTW, Blinker Fluid comes in a BEER can...)

^^ I agree...must be a relay. Check the fuse box near the driver side kick panel. I think it is there. At least the fog light relay is there.

the coin holder? the one next to the steering column? is this like a fuse or in the fuse box? because i checked that last night all the fuses in that box are fine.. if anyone can please take a pic for me and show me exactly where this is itd be greatly appreciated.

and how much would this relay cost, and can i buy it anywhere else other than dealership? (no junk yards around here)

so here is an update.
everyone is tellin me it should be the relay.
I see there are 2 relays in the fuse box area insidfe the car on the left of the steering wheel behind the coin holder. do i have to replace both or what? toyota told me that there are 2 relays. one for front, one for back.
my friend though tells me that he called another toyota, they said there is just one relay. and yes he gave them the correct info about my car and the problem.

the dealership i went to says the total cost for both relays is about 150 dollars (60 + 90)...

and my friend said the dealership he contacted said the relay i need is 60 bucks..

i dont know what to do. any info or real suggestions please let me know asap.

Buy an Haynes manual it should have a test procedure in fact you should already have one. Other than that look at the wiring diagram and see if you can use a universal they are about 10 bucks at any auto parts store I have done it before with other cars.

if i remeber correctly, relays suppose be just right behide at your kick panel. you can pick up the relay from the junkyard for just buy a hyper blnker one from internet.

check following which i think would contribute troubles:

1. harzard signal swtich....check the connection behide your center counsol
2. blinker relay....ask someone who has solara/camry to blinker theirs and trace the blink sound..you will find it at the exctly location
3. fuses behide the coin box...just pull it out and you will see some fuse there.

you seriously need to buy a repair manual for yourself

2.5 THOUSAND posts....and no haynes book... :-?

ya dont go to the stealership for that one pull of a junker...or buy one of the internet.....cause chances are you will take it in and they will say your aftermarket muffler is causing your blinker fluid to evaporate prematurly :drinking:

and after that still pay a arm and a leg for them to do some diagnostics and then take a hour to figure out wich way to turn the relay so you get charged a hours labor and.......ya... :drinking: :drinking: :drinking: :drinking: :drinking: :drinking: :drinking: :drinking: :drinking: :drinking: :drinking: :drinking: :drinking: :drinking:

i just need to figure out where this relay thing is. i see 2 black large lookin fuses in the fuse area next to the steering column. THOSE 2 are the relays,b ut i dont know which one is which or do i only need to replace one of them or what.. crap . i dont even know if the relay IS the problem for all of this.. they didnt have the relays at autozone, murrays, advance auto parts, or pep boys.. man.. :(

I found out, when I was changing the lights to my HVAC that if the Hazard lights didn't work, the turn signals didn't work either. Anytime I had the vertical trim off the center controls (clock, radio, and hvac) my turn signal didn't work but when I plugged in the wire to the hazard connector the turn signals work. Hope this narrows things down a little. I would check the hazard circuit breaker. Good luck.
