Another Y-Pipe Installed!
Yep, just got it installed this past Saturday...
Loving the sound, and loving the better airflow i'm getting. I can feel performance gains in towards the mid and higher RPM's... As of current, I got stock exhaust manifolds (headers), Dat's Y-pipe, and stock resonator and stock muffler. As of now, there isn't a cat, but I can possibly change that in the future. In order to fix the CEL, i used the fix where you make the o2 sensor further away from the exhaust stream. This is where you get those spark plug anti-fouler and combine two of them. More details if you ask me.
In this first video,
start-up was cold, and thus, start-up is louder than the 2nd clip. You can make out most of the sounds, but when I rev louder, and more exhaust come out, due to the positioning of the camera I guess, there's some distortion on the microphone. Basically sounds like a lot of wind...
In this second video,
car was already previously warmed-up. I position the camera a little bit further away to avoid any distortion. 1st part of the video is me revving to 2k, then to 2k again slowly, then to 3k quick, then to 5k quick, then to 6k quick. Then a series of quick up to 3-4k's.
2nd part of the video is me moving the camera to where the driver side door is, bsically where the y-pipe ends and where the "test pipe" is. Some quick revs up to 3-4k here also.
Last part of the video is just what it sounds like inside of the car...
So yeah, I tried to make this as clear as possible for anyone who wondered what adding the y-pipe sounds like, and what does it do.
There's also not that many clips where someone upgraded ONLY their y-pipe. Everyone else got upgraded muffler too, so it's kinda hard to tell what ONLY upgrading the y-pipe does.
Enjoy the clips and give any questions/comments.
