18"s are definitely better than 17"s without compromising too much ride quality.
I admitt 19"s are too extreme and ride quality and drivability will suffer.
Go with 18"s and you won't regret it.
My Mustang came with 17" factory wheels, they weren't big enough, so I got 18"s, then I regretted for not getting 19"s... You know how that goes
