In my case, I had to get my car fixed ASAP. There were three different insurance companies involved (4 drivers - I was sandwiched).

Since I couldn't wait, I bit the bullet and had the repairs done through my insurance and paid the $500 deductible. My insurance company (State Farm) knew it wasn't my fault (police report) so my rates were not affected.

After about ayear and a half, I got a check in the mail from State Farm...my dedctible back. I guess they finally worked it out with all the other companies.

Now, since they want to total your car, I'm not sure how much this helps beucase you aren't getting repairs, but trying to get money for the loss.

Again, best of luck!

What? Am I understanding you correctly? You have State Farm and they are not taking care of you? I've had State Farm for 20 years now. I've only had one claim in that time, and they took care of me right away.

I thought State Farm was one of the best for customer satisfaction

I have State Farm, and nothing but great service. Before you blame it on them, consider that the person who hit you may not have provided all of the required info to start the process. It is their ins co, right?

When you call State Farm, you don't get a person on the phone? I always get a person when I call. They should be able to tell you what's going on.
