I THINK I FIGURED SOMETHING OUT!!!! I finally got that darn ebay intake in. The ram air one. After hearing all this stuff I went and did an experiment and dont know if I am correct, but the reason that the ebay intake was so bad was the factory Sensor Isnt big enough for it. Now correct me if Im wrong but think abuot it. The reason it doesnt work as well and makes the car kind of choke is have you ever diconnected the air flow sensor on it? well the car starts to think its not taking in air so it chokes...I even took out the sensor, started the car, and blow into it with the ebay pipe intake hook up..WHAT DO YOU KNOW, IT RUNS PERFECT!!! So in conclusion, its NOT the pipe that is bad. YES the filter is, BUT the pipe is actually as close to the ingen pipe only way cheaper and just little bigger in diag if im correct and ingen got a better filter (which u can buy and save money that way). I been testing it out myself so im sure i got it right!! So its the ebay pipe with OBX filter and a pipe from outside into the engine bay at the filter for cool air entrance for the intake....NOW I am sure I am close to right. Been messing with it even with a friend who works at a dealership so we did it at the shop and its pretty close yahz. Ebay aight bad at all!!

So what did you do to get the sensor to fit correctly?

Yes they do but if you look at the stock one's pipe and the ebay one, the ebay one of course was wider (diagonally) so air passes through too easily making the sensor not pick up presences of air. Now look at the ingen's intake and the stock on and see. Its more closed in so its concentrated to get air to the sensor then engine. While ebay concentrate to full speed ahead. Thats the only fault there is in Ebay. Other then that If i am correct, Ebay letting more air in (only if you gun it to keep the sensor knowing there is air there)

Im sorry. I forgot to mention that ingen intake ARE NOT BAD AND STILL GREAT. Only thing is that ebay one seem to have a design where it doesnt care about the sensor's and want to give you full intake. There is away to by-pass the sensor flow and just make the ebay ram air just more powerful. You can even extend it and make Ebay Cold air extension. Other then that, ingen is still the best, while ebay just you more air slow. Correct me if Im wrong. But you have to prove it. I have Proven mine (with a train car specilist) He did say that the sensors on solara were concentrated for its stock diagonal width. That why ingen intake are smaller or done in a way to match its flow to hit the sensors. SO PROVE ME WRONG

Dude, I got your explination... My question was...How did you make it work for you? How did you close the gap? You can't tell me you made it work by just gunning it all the time because that would be crazy to have to do that all the time.
