you don't have to install a big brake kit, however upgrading the existing brake system is something you should not look away from.

Get a set of Goodridge stainless steel brake lines, maybe some Brembo or Powerstop rotors, slotted or just plain, NOT CROSS DRILLED. And some new pads. Either some ceramic pads of good quality or some Porterfield racing synthetic pads.

rotors are custom fit to that year car and are not universaly fit.

this upgrade should set you back about $300-400

w/o the rotor upgrade- $150-$200

Increased risk for rotor warping, brake pad more prone to crack, and decrease of brake pad life overall. Normal style rotors are fine for street and some track use, but slotting gives the brake less fade from repeated use and heat generated, and it cleans the brake pad surface by scraping it every time it passes over a slot which means it grinds up the pad to create better grip.

Oh yeah, and more chance for rusting of the rotor and decreased structural durability of the metal rotor body.

I have the brmbo cross drilled and slotted rotors...

they told me they put zinc on it so it doesn't rust but mine rusted anyways...

i've had mine on for about 25k not and they are warped... im using trd pads also...

im changing to brembo slotted rotors since it would do me best.. i wouldn't go with both.... IMO and from personal experience...

slotted only will do you just fine....

yeah, brembo doesn't make cross drilled AND slotted rotors specifically for the warping issue

someone bought some slotted rotors and then drilled them out and sold them to you.

sux man

did you do a big-brake kit or just replace the OEMs w/ something the same size?

Yeah Brembo don't actualy make the rotors drilled and slotted. Either Slotted or Drilled. Not both.

Some other company messing with it and labeling it "Brembo"
