02 Solara/JBL Audio system

Guys- Question: I just bought my 02 Solara w/the JBL system and wanted to make it sound better so I went to CC, BB, Hoopers, Tweeters etc and the guy at CC said "the JBL system has speakers with such low resistance that if you replace them your volume goes way down. The only way to do it is to either do nothing or replace everything." I am quoting him here because I don't know. Is this fact or is this Bushilt?
