Good choice on the color! Where are you and what misfortunes have you had? I've got a farting sunroof, a rear deck that rattles from both sides and a gas pedal that hesitates (seems like we all have these issues). I still love the car though.

I'm in the Dallas, TX area
I purchased the car in September 2003
an airbag warning light went on and i kept taking the car to the shop for about 2 months and after much complaining and driving loaners, i finally just got a new car in late november
this one has the hesitant gas pedal like you mentioned and the left drift problem i initially thought was due to a misallignment - i'm going back to the dealership with the info i got here soon

on a side note, i've found the mechanics at my local toyota disgustingly chauvenistic - being female and young has gotten me very poor customer service
the evening service manager has been the only one to treat me with respect and he's the only one i deal with anymore
i drive a lot and have to get maintenance more often than i'd like

I've been lucky on the left drift issue. 1824 miles and no signs of it yet.

Did they take your first car back under a lemon law? I hope the new one works out for you. Check the posts for the TSB number on the left drift problem.

I'm taking mine in for the first oil change in a few weeks and will have a new dealer address my issues then. The dealer I bought the car from couldn't hear the rattles either time I brought it to them.

it was time for the lemon law to take affect - that's why they volunteered to replace the car. . .to avoid the legal hassle and to avoid having the first car tagged a lemon in official records (harder to resell)

Does the drift issue just affect the gen 2 modles? I was wondering because my gen 1 has 113 thosand miles on it and she handles like new still.
