Intake

Intake

Postby DonkeKong » Sun Aug 01, 2004 7:04 pm

Hi, I was looking for opinions regarding intake for my 99 SLE V6. I'm kind of tight on cash right now, because I just bought the car. I want to make sure I get the most performance for the money. I found an injen intake for $219. I found a weapon R intake for $125. Is the Injen really worth the extra $94? Also, what about the $20 intake on eBay? Is it possible that it is a decent intake. If I could get 50% of the performance for a fraction for the price, it might be worth it. Thanks.

im not going to say anything about the ebay intakes because if u do a search, u'll see they suck, and also u'll find out that if u get the Injen, u can get an extension to make it a cold air, which makes it worth it.

if you are strapped for cash, just buy a K&N drop in filter.

Weapon-R Filters are very high maintenance compared to the Injen. The foam element most be taken care of every 3-5k miles. People that haven't taken good care of it have hurt their cars. Before you buy this is something to consider.
Let's just pretend I didn't grow up, or you're going to be terribly disappointed.

Great, thanks for all the advice. I'm probably going to end up getting one of the ones off nopi. Thanks for the tip on that site. Mad Installa: I'll PM you if I decide on Injen when I'm ready to buy. Thanks for the offer. So, all: thanks again.

I like my INJEN...I just cleaned it yesteday after like two years :P haha it's funny cause it doesn't really look dirty like most filters but when you clean it, there's so much dirt that comes out. NEwayz it's pretty much up to you...I like cosmetic wise, INJEN looks the best.
