going dual exhaust

going dual exhaust

Postby toy4x4boy » Mon Aug 02, 2004 11:15 am

I wanna go dual exhaust on my 99 V6 5-speed Solara. I've used to search function and read up a bit on the install but just wanted to ask a couple questions. I want my car loud, but not ricey. A nice deep tone is what I'm looking for. I'm doing this for looks and sound. For everyone who has duals, what mufflers are you using? How loud is your car? I saw this car http://www.camryclub.org/shots/1249.jpg and really like the way that looks. Anyone know what mufflers he's using? And what tips? Piping is not really a concern, I know the passenger side muffler has to be moved over, but it looks good, i've seen some pics. Basically I just need to decide on mufflers and tips based on looks and sound. Any help is appreciated. Thanks guys!

I'm running the first ever dual TRD exhaust. Well, I believe it was the first...nonetheless my exhaust is pretty deep, but only loud at higher RPMS, at low RPMs it has a nice purr to it. It's not ricey at all, because its only loud when it should be. I also had the resonator removed. Check my WWW for pics.

Tsudo Predators, and JPP headers & Y-pipe. If you want it loud this is the setup for you. Not ricy at all and extremely deep. I love mine, but I had to put the silencers in cause it was too loud.

you dont need to go dual to be loud.

most likely mufflers now a days for our type platform already have tips.

unless you go flowmaster or something like that.

Also could you tell me a little about these Tsudo Predators? I can't seem to locate anything with a search.

You'll sound pretty deep with or w/o duals. I just think adding a second muffler just adds more volume, not more deepness.

Anyone know what the difference is between the Tsudo Predator and the Tsudo Draggster? I like the look of the Draggster alot better. Thanks!
