Postby SC V6 » Wed Aug 04, 2004 7:09 pm

I've been hiding away in my garage for about 2 weeks, but im finshed... most of the wait was because of parts... I got anxious and started before parts arrived

Installed:

Kaaz Limited Slip
Spec Stage 3 (6-puck) clutch
Fidanza Lightened Flywheel
URD 190lph fuel pump

The Manual Tranny is in, and everything runs perfect.. just broke the LSD in today... I have to baby the clutch for a while.. but thats it

I have pictures but I have them on the camera, and I will post soon...

Everything was done by myself and a buddy of mine in my garage
No CEL codes.. no problems

later

Did you swap the ECU or spoof it into thinking the auto is still there?

I was going to use a Manual ECU, but the salvage yard I got it from... didn't give me a key that got past the transponder... so I couldn't get it past the Theft ... wouldn't turn over.. so I just tricked it

it really wasn't that bad.. the only part that was hard (not bolt on) was the clutch pedal.. which wasn't that bad... Everything else was bolt on, and was pretty easy... but I thought while I was doing the swap, I needed the Lightened flywheel, stage 3 clutch, and the LSD...

Really the LSD install scared me.. You need to order a 91 MR2 turbo speed sensor ring from the DIfferential, and the snap ring, as well as the new speed sensor ring for the sensor itself.. which was hard to get since there were only 3 coming into the US from Japan... but I got all that, and got the LSd installed.. the install on the LSD was very involved.. I had to tear the tranny completly apart to get the stock differential out.. overall... not that hard

Just lots of hard work... and sweat.. it was so humid a majoridity of the time

How did you spoof the ECU? Also was everything pretty much bolt on except for the clutch pedal?

well... I went to a local salvage yard.. and got everything I needed for $1000... that was a ECU, pedals, shifter assembly, shifter cables, tranny, stock flywheel, clutch and pressure plate, speedo, axles, slave cylinder, master cylinder.. I think I got all of it.. but I got that all for $1000... then I had to upgrade.. so I got the LSD ($890), lightened flywheel $350, URD fuel pump $95, and stage 3 clutch $350... I had to go get gear oil, gasket maker (had to tear the tranny apart) and some tools and things, but over all I say it was about 2500-3000 for all the upgrades and parts and tools...

O yeah.. the best part about this is... I have a bigger brake booster over a stock manual and I have traction control...

oh yeah.. I got the ECU to be tricked.. by taking my Auto tranny apart and pulling the celinoids out... basically I took all the sensors that the ECU wanted to see out of the tranny.. and pluged them in.. and hid them in the engine bay... not too hard.. that only took 30 min

oh yeah.. the power KICKS AS$.. I love it.. the LSD pulls me threw the corners like HEL#... and it just takes off so much faster.. I LOVE it... I was skeptical half way threw.. I had some doubts and got worried.. but then when it was done.. and everything works great... I knew it was a good thing that I did it.. the Auto Overdrive clutches were fried anyway.. the tranny fluid in the Auto was brown and weird lookin.. w\ chunks in it...
