Hello all

Hello all

Kinda new here, been posting for a month or so, here and there.

Just donated the $6 I had in my paypal account to help out... Leftovers from my ebay activity.

I suppose it costs some bucks to keep this site going with all the activity here...

I'm a long time Toyota owner, mostly supras and landcruiser fan up until getting my Solara.

Bought an 01 SEV6, leather, sunroof, no alarm, 50K in june for 13K plus a grand for a 3 year extended warranty. So, due to the warranty I won't be modding the engine until I have at least 86K or so on her, since I'm sure any mods would void that warranty.

Anyway, glad to be here, and thankful there's a forum for me to find out things about my new "baby."

I've gotten used to reliance on users groups like this since there are several for the Supra and Landcruiser. Nice to know the Solara has such support too, makes me feel good about my lastest car purchase.

Keep up the good work,

Rich

Welcome. I saw that you got the extended warranty and plan on waiting for mods down the road so you don't void it. That's what I'm planning on doing as well, but I have a Gen 2...so i've got til 75,000 miles, which is good. I've had it since late January and I'm currently at 9500 miles. What were you looking for as far as mods and upgrades, perhaps a s/c???

Well, hope you get some pics up soon.

Yes, the supercharger is what I was really thinking the most about. I had a supercharged Grand Prix GT, and also the non-s/c GP GT (which I have now), and the power difference was night and day. It was only listed as 30 more hp, but that was a big difference.

I imagine it would be the same with the solara.

Yes, I am happy with this engines performance, but I do like a little more kick as well. But the kick in the pocketbook in exchange is also something to consider, at 3K to 4K for the new kits, wow.

I've seen a few selling on here for $1600 to $1750, so I'll probably go the used route eventually.
