Does anyone have the Gen2 front end mask?

Does anyone have the Gen2 front end mask?

Postby slingshot » Mon Jul 19, 2004 6:01 pm

There is no pic or price for the front end mask accessory on the Toyota website. Was wondering what it looked like and how much it cost. I'm starting to get tiny paint chips on front of hood and front bumper. Was thinking that maybe a front mask for highway use would help maintain the hood while repainting the front bumper in several years would get it back to new for about the same price as an invisible bra.

Can anyone help me out with a pic or price and experience using this front end mask (bra)?

I'm really looking for only a mini-mask covering the front of the hood only. The only aftermarket one I could find so far is a Saddleman hood protector for $32.99 sold at Auto Barn. Covercraft has none for this car.

According to the dealers I've spoken with, this part is not yet available. They hope to have it sometime yet this summer.

front end mask

Postby HomeboyMI » Sat Aug 07, 2004 7:43 pm

I bought a mask from Cogan. They have either fiber or plain black bras.
I bought the plain black with matching outside mirror protectors. I need the protection when traveling across the US> Cost about a hundred.

Cogan's also has just the small bra that fits on the edge of the hood.

Just a little side note here. The Colgan will not fit the sport model at least when I was looking there was no application listed. SE AND SLE models only. For us SE SPORT guys the clear bra is the only choice.

1. I assume it is "carbon fiber look"
2. Carbon fiber is a very strong material (much stronger than leather). They make body panels out of the stuff, remember? And tha Mclaren F1 body (and chassis too I think) is completely carbon fiber.
