Average mpg on full tank

Average mpg on full tank

Postby Ford_Fixorrepairdaily » Mon Aug 23, 2004 11:46 pm

I was just wondering what other solara drivers got on a full tank of gas.
I have a auto v-6 and i dont really drive it hard at all. On average i usually get about 280 per tank and now ive been gettin 250. I dont know whats wrong.

i think it could be that my injen intake filter is dirty, running on low psi in tires. Does anyone else have any suggestions as in why am i getting crap for mpg.

thats very bad gas mileage.

even with my setup i at least get 300-320 mpg.

of course it will be lower if i canyon run or do something that involves heavy accelerating.

.........I am still getting 'buyers re-validation' when it comes to gas mileage.

Around the state capital, I generally get 25-27 mpg...............

But shifting into 5th with the deep 0.73 overdrive on a long Interstate trip with cruise control....

A. San Diego to Stockton: 34.2

B. Wells, Nev to Sacramento 35.5

and finally:

C. Bend, OR to Redding, CA (downhill; tailwind, premium, cold) 37.05

Also watch your tacho rate if you go up around 2.5-3. you'll definately eat your gas.

I usually get around 24-25 around town, but I don't have a whole lot of stop and go traffic either...on the interstate, running 80-90, I get 32...I am happy, although my Maxima got better in the city.

At 75mph, I'm at about 3000rpm. I get about 400 miles before the low fuel light comes on during highway driving. For around town I get around 260.
