Looks great. Can you post closeup pics of the full side view showing just how much space there is to squeeze in? Can someone get into the back seat easily? What if they are large? Can you also take a photo from the rear that shows just how far out the doors are when open? One more question: Can you park the car in a normal parking spot and open the doors and get in comfortably? Problems getting in if someone parks too close? That is the only thing I would be afraid of.

haha... come to think about it.. it is kinda odd to see a car with that style door to park in a mall or something.

i'd assume it would be more compact, so space for a person to get in and out of the car would be just like any other car. just have to snake in and out.

Interesting that LA has so many vertical door conversions. I've never seen one anywhere in NY. They would certainly catch attention here.

TRDmonkey,

You've got to come out at the next meet.

Dave,

I'll get more pics later, it's usually the first few days that you get a few pics so you can post. The good close up ones normally come later, when the car is nicely prepped. There are plenty of space for front and rear passengers, keep in mind...the doors are going up, not closing in. I can park a car in a tighter spot and still be able to get in an out. Before, I had to let the passenger out before I pulled into to garage, now both doors can be open with no problem.

Like Mike said, if someone parks too close to you...you just have to snake your way out as if they're normal doors.

Vertical doors are plenty in CA and mostly on Hondas, Acuras, etc...
It's like this, there were several options when choosing the Gen 2 Solara. Yes, I could have choosen a ride that the aftermarket industries were going to flood with products. But I chose a car that I felt Toyota did a good job designing. I knew that any aftermarket products that I want, would have to be custom or wait a few years.

I think in the end, it all boils down to the fact that I want to be an innovator; I want to be the first and I'm sure you guys know that feeling. Like I said from the very beginning, I want to help boost the aftermarket for Gen 2 Solaras. What really matters to me is that I've made a some good friends along the way. For instance, seeing some of my grills on your rides is so surprisingly shocking to me. I saw MrMikeL's drop top convertible at the Schaumburg, IL meet and was very pleased of the way the grill looks. I had no intention in marketing the grills from the beginning. I only made the lower and I wanted more and that's what inspired me to do the upper. Trust me...the upper was very hard to finalize. But in the end, I can actually open my hood and show you a finished product and feel proud of it, whereas before I didn't want anyone to see the grill when the hood was up...lol. I have my girl to thank for that. She's my number one support and all credits goes to her. Cause without her, the upper grill would not be ready. (I will always luv my home girl)

Moving on...I think that's about it for now guys. Again, thanks for da props!

More to come...

Best regards,
Michael

P.S. I just didn't want to write a bunch of replies and this should suffice.

How about more questions?
1. How much does it cost?
2. How long did it take to get done?
3. Where was it done and is that place the only place in the country it can get done at? Do we have to drive to Chicago?
