CEL still on!

CEL still on!

Postby ChargedSolara » Fri Aug 27, 2004 12:51 am

Hey guys: I recently tuned up my s/c solara for 90k, i've had my CEL on for a while due to a blown front o2 sensor, the one right by the headers. I replaced this, and the EGR sensor which is what they scanned my ecu for.

Aside from this, there were a few codes for cylinder misfires on the scan as well, and after driving the car about 50 miles the CEL came on after i got my car back. The o2 sensor (or air/fuel ratio sensor) has been replaced and i'm wondering why the light is still on..anyone have experience with this?

I will be taking it back in next week so i will let you guys know whats the outcome, any opinions in the meantime? Thanks

did the shop used copper head spark plug? The air/fuel oxygen sensor supposely last for long time, i dont understand why your blown so easily. If you went to same shop, i would think they are shitting you that to replace the sensor. because force induction is very easy to triger the second oxygen sensor to give error code, but you can prevent it by install a O2 simulator.

Also, what rate of fuel did you use?

I would think its a good time for yourself to get a OBDII scanner.

Maybe i need that o2 simulator, where do i purchase it from and how does it work? i am still using the denso ik22's, and i don't think the shop is playing me because i did look at all the old parts and new parts, the o2 sensor is right there for me to see..i will double check the codes and see what they are exactly, thanks!

http://www.o2simulator.com

but it wont work on the front bank A/F sensor because the voltage is different. So it is important to konw which sensor is acting up.

the shop tried to disconnect the A/f gauge because they said the split wiring could have tripped it off..once again the light came on even after they disconnected it..i'm geting tired of running back and forth to diagnose..any smart ideas? thanks
