i dono, but the doors on the solara feel mad heavy, i wish they made a light weight version.... :roll:

our solara's side impact rating isn't that good...don't think cf doors would help.

compare to SC400/300 the solara door is much lighter...

Do you think they're that much heavier than other coupes? The Solara's doors are much longer than doors on a 4 door car, so they'll naturally feel a lot heavier. Most coupe doors feel pretty heavy.

Another reason why coupe doors are heavier is cause they're much longer then the standard 4door type doors. More components for the windows plus most are power windowed anyways so there's a motor peice in there. Side impact bars? hehe. Oh yes gotta add in the couple extra OZ. of weight my tweeters take up as well as the primary speakers as well on the door. :lol:

I do agree though. Back in hawaii when i'm usually home for the winter time. I drive an SC300 and even though the car is smaller then our Gen1 solaras, the doors weigh damn heavy.
