hey. i just put in my new grill. what i did is take out my old one and sand it down with some sandpaper and then i primered and then painted it black. i decided to keep the toyota emblem chrome because i thought it would look stupid all black. anyway heres a pic.. tell me what you think.

Looks real good. Thats exactly how I did mine. Looks really tight on black, but I havent taken any pics since I got it done. I put a clearcoat on top of the flat black too to protect it, and give it a nice shine. Not sure if a flat or a shinyblack would look better on a color other than black, but the shiny black from the clearcoat looks good with black body paint.

what brand of primere and paint you use? I want to do the same with my girll the chrome is peeling off.

ok first i sanded down all the chrome on the grill with 1000 grit sandpaper. then i primered it with rust-oleum(grey primer but if i had black primer i would have used it). then i painted it multiple times(3 for me) with krylon semi-flat paint. now i took off my old toyota emblem becase it was old and put on a new one so if you keep yours remember to mask it off.
