I changed the shift knob on my 2000 solara and i pretty much knew it was inreverseable...what i did was, i cut down the metal shaft so i could install this "cool" shift knob but uhmm i have to return it back to stock and ive been thinking to resoldering the metal pieces together or something but uhmm...how much would it cost to get the whole thing replaced at a dealer?

resoldering is not a good idea.

solder itself is fairly weak, and would not last long. esp going through gears. there's a chance it can snap into 2 pieces.

dont take shortcuts, just buy the whole new shifter.

Ummm. Yeah, you need to buy an OEM auto shifter dude. Or go to Pull-A-Part and yank one out of a Camry. I can help you replace it no prob. Let me know how it goes. But I'm with Mike, don't weld it back on dude.

If u take out the oem shift knob u will see 2 metal poles. One is a skinny one and then another one around the skinny one.I cut both off them really short so it looks all extra "cool"

How much is the whole shift thingie? I hope its under 200
