took out the deck from the bottom, then took out that piece that's holding the keyring, then you should able to change it, pretty easy, like less than 20 mins

Is it changeable to one thats more blue like the headlight backlamp?

It'd be great if all the radio lights could be changed to match that.

I did this about a year and a half ago to match my blue neons. We are talking about the circle of green light around the ignition right?

Take a flathead screwdriver and pop the surrounding black ring out. Then there is a panel around the ignition, also a simple pop out. The bulb is hidden behind the clear ring. Once you get to the bulb you can replace it, or do what i did and remove the green condom thingy and paint the bulb and part of the clear surround. Thanks to 808Camry for originally telling me this.

Key Ring Light Change

Postby SolaraGuy22 » Sat Sep 11, 2004 4:18 pm

Thank you bassthrive for the instructions on changing the bulb. It has been burnt out on my car for a while but I never bothered with it until now. I uploaded some pictures on my site of the steps required to change it in case anyone wants a visual.

Looks like a blue LED from autolumination. Bulbs cant really get that kind of blue.

I had a blue bulb that I tried. Its got a dim super-white look, not blue at all. I chose to use a white LED in the end, but everyone has thier own taste.

Yep I even did it to Rene's Solara and it looks the same.

Is your bulb dark blue? Cause the hyper white one looks "Blue" but not as dark as the blue one. Hold it up to the light to see the difference.

They might have sent you a hyper white in error or something.
