New Strut maybe...

When i drive and when i got over little bumps its sound like a rattling from my back left i checked to see if the tire was loose so now im assuming its the strut any help on this guys?

if you are lowered on stock struts its probably a blown strut or bad strut mount.

So its better to buy the whole deal rather the spring only? I was told it dies faster if you buy the springs only...is that true?

That is true. You blow your stock struts much quicker. Your stock struts were made to handle the factory height of the car. Once you swap out to lowering springs only you then compress the stock struts at an undesirable rate to blow quicker. I strongly recommend the Tokico struts.

I have been having the same problem, on the right side. It's annoying, and I can't find an easy way to get to the source. So I'm going to the Toyota dealer this afternoon (stock struts, not lowered) and hopefully it'll be under warranty.

I read some where if you get lowering springs, you can adjust the bump stop.
I thought you could modify the stock strut and have a good/"ok" strut.
SuperStreet had TEIN install lowering springs[the green kind], and the guy modified the stock strut to accodamate the lowerin' of the car.
I have it in one of my SuperStreet magazines.

I have been having the same problem, on the right side. It's annoying, and I can't find an easy way to get to the source. So I'm going to the Toyota dealer this afternoon (stock struts, not lowered) and hopefully it'll be under warranty.

It could be your strut mounts that are shot. Thats the most common complain about the stock suspension.

If you have lowering springs and stock struts, you should only expect 1 year or around 12k miles out of them before their blown. Its better to do it right the first time

Is finding the mount and replacing it hard to do on your own? What would be required? If someone can get me good information, I'll grab the digital camera and get a tutorial going.

you'd better re-read that article, because there is no such way to mod the stock struts. (it's not worth the pain/trouble.)

as for the bump stop, just cut 2 rings from the stock bump stop and you should be fine.

I'm about 2pay checks away b4 I buy my TEIN SS C/Os and have a good shop do the installation within under 1 day's worth since I need a car to drive around since I got nobody to cover for me if I need to work on the weekends. Will also be checking my strut mounts when I was told in my post in the aftermarket section about my TEIN SS Questions.

Btw. Lowering Springs + Aftermarket sport struts cost around $700 at best with installation fees from all the posts about the common strut/spring setups. I was almost gonna go do it but coil overs are definately the extra price. Just that I heard the back wheels are a biatch to setup time to time if that was correct?

^ya cause you gotta take out the back seat. my springs took 2 hours to install i think, maybe less
