30000k???? That's after 30 MILLION miles? I know Toyotas are reliable but...
:)
You don't need the 'k' unless you get rid of the zeroes, i.e. 30k. :)

Anyway, it's a good idea to replace your sparks after 30-50k anyway. Otherwise, after a 100k, the spark plugs might take out the threads with them. It's at least a good idea to get them serviced and gapped, but since they are CHEAP to replace that's even better.

I can't find the Solara Haynes Manual at the moment but the Dummies guide to Auto Repair says

12k/18k on PCV/Sparks

97 and up 1MZ-FE V6 uses dual tipped platinums. They switched to Iridium for 2002. The OEM Denso Iridiums are different from the aftermarket Denso Iridiums. The OEM Iridiums have a thicker electrode.

Still expensive. My old spark plugs were like $10 to replace... but of course I also ha a 4 cylinder but 6 would not have been all that bad either.

forget about the price of the platinum's. They are going to be a pain in the butt to change.

Also any reccomendations on what Spark plug wires to get. I'm thinking spiro or HKG. MSD ignition is pretty useless for our cars right.

Well the 1MZ-FE calls for platinum plugs...nothing less. The rear bank is a pain in the butt to change, if you have an S/C installed, you better have very small hands and lots of u joints and extensions to replace em with.

Spark plug wires, your only option is Magnacor KV85 wires. You can order it direct through www.magnacor.com As for plugs, I would only recommend Denso or NGK. Stay way from Bosch Platinum +4's. As for MSD ignitions, it's useless to TDI (Toyota direct ignition). Your only option would be an HKS DLI or Ignition Solutions Plasma Booster. The HKS unit runs close to $500 and the Ignition Solutions around $200.

Flip,

I actually found that they are under www.magnecor.com. The direct link to the wires are http://www.magnecor.com/magnecor1/kv85r100.htm Will these cause radio interference and are they worth it. Our stock wires are pretty small

Actually the stock wires are of good quality. It's the sheathing of the wires that make it seem thick. It will cause no interference.

Yeah I should have said the newer updated 1MZ-FE found in the Gen5 Camry and ES300. The 02-03 Solara should still be using dual tipped platinums.
