What is the best way to take off the sliver chrome paint on the front grille??
Would paint thinner work. :-?

What are you wanting to do, for a friend of mine use lightly sanded it down with hand hand dremel, and then spray-primed and then spray painted! (we didn't take out the chrome, we just make it rought enought for the primer to stick).

The chrome was flaking off on mine as well. I went to a car wash down the street and was using the power spray to clean the engine when I accidentally sprayed some water on the grille and noticed it removed the chrome laminate. I went ahead and dropped in another two bucks and just used the power sprayer to take ALL of the chrome laminate off (used the sprayer about two inches from the grille), although the sprayer did not do anything to the Toyota emblem chrome. Slightly sanded it with 1000 grit wet sandpaper and then painted it a base of metallic black and then a clear coat.
