Bearing problem

My front wheel on the passenger side has some strange "nok-nok" sound while I am driving. My friend told me that maybe it's a bearing problem. How much shall I expect to pay to solve this problem? Moreover, will I have this bearing problem come out if I always make a hard turn??

how many miles do you have on the car?

it may be the strut mounts wearing out.

try tightening the 3 nuts at the top of the strut housing.

Just had the same problem. Kept on getting worse until I thought that the wheel was going to fall off. Turned out to be the bearing in the strut mount had gone bad. Fortunately they had just put the TRD struts and springs on 2 weeks earlier so all I got charged for was the cost of the part. No labor or charge for re-allignment.

If it's clacking on turns, my money's on a CV joint. Check the boot to see if it's ripped. If it is a bearing, it's a pain in the ass to fix, but not impossible. You'll need to pull the hub, get a new bearing and seals, and have a machine shop press out the old one and press in the new one.

That nok-nok is getting worse, on my 99 with 43k. I plan on grabbing some tokico and springs and then finding someone to put them on without breaking something. What did that Nok nok noise turn out to be, will the springs and struts fix it, should I ask or look at anything else while doing the springs and struts aside from maybe new mounts all around. When I bought the car they just put on new mounts on the front. But then I started to notice the nok nok noise on the front passanger side and its driving me nuts *sigh*

how does the strut mount bearing go bad? There are bearings in the strut mount? wtf? Maybe you guys arent tightening the strut mount bolt completely. After putting your suspension back onto the car, lower it back down. Then use a marker and draw a line across the top of the strut piston. Then tighten the strut mount bolt. Do little turns at a time and check that the line drawn by the marker is still the same position. If it is then continue to tighten.

but in your case it sounds like a bad wheel bearing or something w/ your ps pump
