Replacing front cupholder in 2001 SLE convertible

I'vs searched with no luck- here goes. My wife broke the front cupholder pressing down on it too hard. Three bolt tabs in front are broke so it looks like it's sunken beneath the cover. The repair manual is vague on taking off the center console, especially on removing the cover piece around the shifter console (where I think underneath are two bolts are that must be removed). Please help, as I can screw this up royally unassisted. Repair must be done as the car is going up for sale soon. Thanks to all.

you might have to purchase another center console.

those cup holders aren't really repairable. (that's what i assume the part your wife broke)

i'll post a pic or two when i can get my camera back. meanwhile, i was wondering, where the shift is there is a square trim that i think the manual says to pry up with a taped screwdriver end. sound right? i think underneath that trim is 2 screws holding the the front of the console.

ps: i'm keeping the car- MY kids love the convertible!
