1999 Seat Warmer??

1999 Seat Warmer??

Postby Jetfixer » Wed Oct 06, 2004 3:22 pm

Alright, I've looked everywhere, including a search here, and can't find any info about whether or not the 99 SLE has a heated seat. There is no button to turn a heater on, yet there is a 20 amp fuse in the dash labelled "seat warmer". Is there a seat heater? I can't even find a reference to one in the service or owners manuals, or wiring diagrams.

really, i was under the impression that all gen 1's anf gen 1.5 did not come with butt warmers..the heater mirror now thats another thingie...its triggered by rear-defrost, but i'm specifically wondering about butt-warmers. Can anyone in the gen 1 platform confirm that they have buttwarmers?

I believe it started in the gen1.5. I've never heard of anyone with a gen1 having seat warmer.

I'm gonna be installing my own at the end of the month! Same seats, but removing the leather to insert a heating element, then putting the leather back on. Gonna make the back seats heated too. I'm gonna use a dimmer switch too. And I will make a DIY tutorial for it too. Will I be the first gen 1 to have heated seats?

If you look under the center armrest and shifter you'll find 2 plugs for them. And nothing to plug into them. You can go buy seats from the gen 1.5 and plug them in. But that would be the hard, expensive way.

I got a set of butt warmers off ebay. They were originally for a subaru but worked perfect in my 2001 solara. Easy install because the kit came with everything.

What did the kit come with? This is under the leather/cloth?

I guess my question is why would there be a fuse labeled seat warmer if thaty didnt come out until 3 years later? I got a friend who recent bought a used 2000 SLE V6, and it supposidly has heated seats, but I guess we gotta revisit that.
