Car-stats.com has a 99 SE at 15.6 for the quarter and 7.0 0-60 time.
The transmission is unkown but I'm positive it's a manual.
They also have a 2001 automatic at 16.0 for the quarter and 7.9 0-60.

these cars arent pusses man, they aren't so feebley designed that you cant change octane, i go from regular to premium all the time, better to have higher octane anyway. octane evenly distributes throughout the gas tank, so mixing is fine

Hey thakidd, any idea what your best 0-60 time was before you s/c? 15.6 is the same time as the manual. Was that bone stock?

Thanks. Now for the big question. Do you leave it in drive or do you manually shift it? If you manually shift, what RPM do you shift at?

If you leave the O/D off does the car redline at any speed that you'll hit during the 1/4 mile? I just don't want the boost to be cut off.
Here's a link for info and pics of my 1999 Camry:

For our car we probably will just see the beginnig of 3rd at the end of the 1/4. For autos just leave it in drive and work on your launch and also keeping the car staright. Other than that there's not much you can do. Holding it beyond redline only slows you down since our power band begins to fade at the top end and if you hit the rev limiter you lost a lot of time right there. Also by the time you upshift the time it takes for the ECU to recognize it and then send a signal for the auto tranny to shift you'll probably hit the rev limiter. Good luck and have fun. BTW power braking at the track won't kill your tranny unless you clock it every weekend or power brake daily and it helps big time when bringing your ET down if you do it right.

I must say I've VERY impressed with your numbers, you are very fortunate to see those results with an auto.

1/4 mile

Postby SleeperSolara » Mon Oct 18, 2004 7:18 am

Dang 14 sec in 1/4 mile.
Anyways i thought 94 vwould kill my car case it so high in octane.
Plus it is expensive to get, it like $1.94 and gal. :o
How do you powerbrake??
Isn't it were you hold the brake wit the left, and gas on the right, and hit the gas while the brakes are on??
I think i'm right.
Am I right about it??
2000 Solara SE auto V6. Diamond White Pearl.
Top Speed Run finished at 130 mph. :o
