exhaust question

Postby Mandarinsolara » Thu Oct 14, 2004 5:55 pm

hey guys, i have a 2000 sle, and im in love with the V6. i can get my exhaust done cheap, i got some connections, but would true dual straight pipes be too loud. i think i can keep it under control enough for cops not to bother me.
and another thing, im thinking side pipes for some reason, kinda like some of the mustangs, i want to put into 2nd (im auto) on the highway and let off the gas at night and watch the fireworks begin. does anybody have straight pipe or a muffler that is proving to be too loud? thanx much
my bum ass is still in high school without a job so im not buying a muffler, maybe high flow cats though.

I don't think the V6 can be that loud. I would go with straight pipes if I get a chance.
But Hey, You have the SLE which is supposed to be more of a luxury. I wouldn't want to make it loud.

i can get it done for about 120 bucks from a buddy at mine, if i go with the side pipes, they will be painted black to not bring such visual attention. but they'll be loud when i open her up. as for daily driving, they might be too raspy, a lot of civics are too raspy, how do you guys feel about your exhausts

There's a member here (don't remember the name) that has dual straight pipes, no muffler either. And I dunno if it's true dual, but it looks nice. Try doing a Search on the link at the top right of the page. There's been tons of posts about this.
