how to wire spoiler wires?

OK....when my solara went into the body shop, they had to take out the driver side talilight meaninig they disconnected the spoiler wires as well. I'm trying to get my spoiler LEDs working again but im having too much trouble. I remember one wire went to the bolt and one was tapped into the brake lights but i dont remember which color goes where. I did try it both ways but still they do not light up. Maybe my LEDs are out??

connect the wires to a 9v battery first, see if it lights up, if it doesnt, they are out.

I remeber there was prewire hidden under the interior carpet by the driver side rear quater panel. it was a plug in socket.
