That's why you go to a mechanic that gets so much work he has to turn you down. I have a few places that are so busy they tell me they won't get to my car until the next day even if it's just an hour or so of work.

Of course the downside to it is they don't always tell you what's wrong with your car. The guys over there go through my car so quick they don't take the time to look at other things. Once they had right out missed the problem saying my car was good when it fact the air compressor had caught on fire and was inoperable. I still wonder about that one...

I haven't gone back to them, but that's only because I just got rid of the car and bought my Solara and she's been good to me!

they need to stop!! i get stuck w/ enough people locking their keys in their car, losing their keys, hitting things, running outta gas, leaving their lights on, breaking down, getting flat tires...

if i hear "i don't understand why it's breaking down! it was just in the dealer for its xx month/xx mile check up!"

i can only pretend to be surprised..........

just stay away from dealers!! i really don't trust them. it's sad too cause there are some dealers out there that really do care about the customers and their whole "car buying experience". most dealers just want the money and then run..there are a couple tho that are polite, helpful, very friendly/family orientated, and continue to help out their customers even after they've had the car for 3 years. it's not common in busy cities..usually smaller towns have them. i had some lady the other day in indiana..i forget what city. she was a really elderly woman..it took me 90mins to do the call cause she was crazy and answered all the questions but the ones i asked her..then it turned out she was in the boonies. she had a 99kia and i spoke to the dealer b/c i was having trouble pulling up her file and she was so confusing i couldn't determine if she was under her 3yr/36mi roadside warranty. most dealers wouldn't care a bit...he gave me her vin # and even pulled out the yellow pages later when i called him again to see if he knew any other place to change a tire cause there was NO ONE to do it excpet one place for $50 bucks. the cust said she wouldn't have enough money b/c her insurance was due (get this! she was saying how expensive she thought it was...a whole $600 for 6months!! lol)
i called the police..they were so nice..they sent an officer out to see what they could do. if that call was in ny or nj...forget about it! she's be outta luck! no money=no service!

hahah..really..i wanna say that sometime...if i see a 718 area code or any mahattan/queens/brooklyn/jersey area code i roll my eyes and don't wanna answer it!!

massachusettes is almost the worst to dispatch in sometimes!! sometimes is worse than ny/nj which is hard to believe. at least the mass pike isn't a restricted roadway anymore...those are all over the place in ny/nj..the belt way..garden state pkwy..mautauck (sp) freeway...most of the interstates (80..90..whatever)...what pain.

I think New Yorkers are pretty nice, or perhaps I only meet other tourists...

hahahahah...some are nice..it's a shame that they all get stereotyped as being nasty. i've noticed that their accent makes them seem mean too tho. like the same way that a boston accent or a souther accent makes people sound so uneducated.

people in "country" park of ny are generally kind..it's the city dwellers who are been turned cold that are the ones you wanna watch out for!

At the dealership yesterday Toyota did check my fuel.....

Postby guest » Fri Nov 08, 2002 5:00 am

cap and the engine and the light was still on. I told him I had to go to work and I'll be there at 8:00 a.m. in the morning and he said it be a couple of hours. I appreciate all your comments about the check engine light. Personally I like preventive maintance then my car falling apart. The Toyota dealership I go to is awesome and they go out of their way for me. I trust them because they get the job done and I'm not one to mess around either.

I really I'm thinking about writing a letter to Toyota and their service department about how awesome their quality is and how they go out of their way to schedule me in. Just think if I had a Land Cruiser lol.

Didn't catch the last part....
BTW, when the check engine lights came on on my lexi, it was FOUR bad 02 sensors...nice thing is that lexi has some 75K warranty (don't know if its powertrain..or something else) and all was covered, phew...and i was like 200 miles away from that!!
