hey. i was wondering if xm satellite is worth getting or not? around here the one i want to get cost me $130 and $10 a month for service. i can get it installed for free from one of my friends so thats not a concern. i just want to know if its worth it in the long run.

i dl all the songs i want from itunes and just listen to those...the radio doesn't always play my fave songs and will often overplay them so i don't think it's worth paying for xm service each month...

I have sirius sat radio. Works cool in my car. When theres nothing on the radio and im bored of my cds, sat. radio comes and saves the day.. The cool thing also is that you can get one of those portable sat radio and use the same acitivation line but pay a little extra ($5.00) for me and have 2 systems. Kinda like family plan for cell phones.

i have one at home and one in the car. the one at home is like a Ipod and i can use it anywhere. it has a built in ant. Plus i can bring the protable one and plug it into my Camry's Headunit and use it. Not bad IMO.

I say you should get it..

I just purchased the sirius sat radio. the channel line up is a bit different. sirius is geared more to younger generation. I have to work out the bugs and settings, but I shopped and got a real compact model (called XACT), that looks like a Nokia cell ph. (@$100 after rebate).

Also check out the indash units. A bit more, but my guess is better reception and easier to use.

I would subscribe to it if a car was already equipped with the hardware. It's well worth $10/month. BTW, the comedy stations are hilarious.

8) Man I've got XM in all my cars. We never listen to FM and very seldom do we play a CD.
