lighting?

ok well i spent some time with the search button and found lots of stuff on lighting the headlights.. but it didnt seem clear which were best. i am thinking about buying some PIAA blubs but im not even sure which one i should get?(they make plasma and xtreme wht) so this newb is looking for some help. any suggestions are welcome. thnks

Most will tell you if you're not into HID's, go for Silverstars. That's what I have after trying multiple Hyper Whites. Admittingly, hyper whites look cooler when you look at the lamp because it's bluer, but the light output with Silverstars is unbeatable.

Silverstars are great upgrade bulbs. Intense white light, stock bulb is just a joke, so yellow and dim. A few weeks ago my left silverstar went out (low beam, hi beam was still intact) so i replaced both left and right with a set of APC bulbs. A little bit brighter and whiter, but no comment on how long theyll last. The silverstar lasted me about 14 months, which is very good I think as they say they normally last 1 year.

The only experience I had with PIAA was on a friend's maxima: blew bulbs every few months...and were installed correctly, because I did it... Anyway, I got the Silverstars, and they have given me no trouble, and I've had them almost a year.

yeah...silverstar is your best bet man, forget PIAA, they have such short lives...and very expensive

BUT...what I'd really suggest is save up for some HID's, it's lighting taken to a higher level, in a different realm.

for me it's like this

stock halogen - - - -
PIAA - - - - - - - - - -
silverstar - - - - - - -
HIDs - - - - - - - - - -

pm me any questions regarding xenon's, one thing I can tell you is don't get anything over 6000k

i got tha piaa super plasma gt-x. i had these 4 over a year now & no problem, they put out a good light but r expensive, but worth it 2 me

ok welll i am probably going to get piaa lighting because i can order it from a site i trust but i need to know what the difference is between plasma and xtreme wht.. i mean i figure the xtreme white is super bright but is the plasma colored.

alrite..this is when I have to take a stand...

instead of spending 80-90 dollars on a halogen bulb painted blue, and needs to be replaced very often . (I understand that there are exceptions, but the chances are, it won't last you 1/2 year). why not save up and get HID systems, which will outlast your car?

true xenon will give you a true white/blue color, not painted blue, which just gives you that faint blue hue. xenon HID systems are 300% brighter, and it's also wider...basically...BETTER

so what I say is...save up!!!

I agree with bluesolara. Save up for the HID kit, it's well worth it. I have a 4500K kit and I couldn't be happier.
