ya, my stock auto V6 doesnt have great ability to spin the tires, i want something that shreds tires in 2nd gear,... how about you 5 speed guys, how much tire spin do you get, maybe even some of supercharged 5 speed guys, heck supercharged auto's give me some feedback> ALL OF YOU ! NOW! are you guys happy with your wheelspin, im happy with it from an all factory car standpoint, but i want more. oh and if i drop into 1st gear and run it up to 4250 rpm and stab the gas i can usually get a nice little chirp. when the roads wet and i do it, its more like 3 or 4 chirps lol

I have a supercharged AT and I can smoke my stock 16" wheels anytime I want. We'll see what happens with 17" wheels soon.

I've got a (mostly) stock 02 SE V6 5-Speed, and I burn without trying in first... chirp without trying in second. I can get spin taking off, for about 2 seconds, towards the top-end of first, and shifting to second.

The automatic transmission doesn't allow for wheelspin that much. That is why the MT is better because it allows you to have more control over the engine. The AT also kinda works like traction control too. On wet roads I can get wheelspin going into 3rd on my stock 16's.

Front wheel drive...........

Postby ezshift5 » Sun Nov 07, 2004 1:08 am

....wheelspin frequent (bone-stock '00 SE-V6 except for 215/55's) upon sudden standing start clutch engagement.........actually brings unwanted attention when the weight shifts rearward - raising the front end somewhat to permit front tires to smoke and scream...................

Well, anyway.....V6 gets 31-33 on long highway trips using c/c.........
It's been a good car for 65k; no reals complaints here (I can live with the occaissional wheelspin................ez

I had an auto and when I was running higher boost I could punch it at 20mph and break them loose.. its not a good thing... 5 speed I have now helps a lot.. especially the LSD, but the problem is now, im getting wheel hop... Im thinking I need to upgrade my suspension to solve some of it
Parting out my car!!! great upgrades for sale!

the reason im not as satisfied with my wheelspin is because my buddies integra with intake and exhaust can break traction anywhere in first gear, just punch it and you are smokin the tires and bouncing off redline (such a rush!), i guess another factor is the transmissions, our 1st gear runs out at like 45 mph compared to his 30-33 or somethin like that. solara is a greater car and all, its just i dont care about the luxuries as much as i do speed, if the parents would let me i would sell it for an integra type r, or do an ls/vtec/turbo.
riding clean just isnt my style.

I used to be able to spin my stock tires without trying. But with my rims and new uber-grippy tires all I see is slight wheelhop, usually on turns due to torque steer. Id have to really drop the hammer on wet pavement to get them to spin like they used to. It depends on your rubber. Check out the A/T kickdown cable mod in the Links section - my shifts hit harder since I did it. I feel like my car wants to chirp 2nd now, but the tires still wont let it happen.

i like to keep my tires as long as possible.

no wheel hop is better for me.

however on balding tires, i get too much grip even if i try to burn out.

Well the kit was about 400 and takes about 4 hours to intall, The key to N20 is the amount of TQ you get witch is what makes it so easy to smoke tires. Like lets say u use a 75 shot u will see atleast 100tq to the wheels or more. When i use my 100 shot i see 148tq more to the wheels :o
its fun but sucks when u need traction for racing. Thats while i have custom made a dual stage N20 kit

SC V6 - suspension will take care of most of the wheel hop

Just buy bald tires if you want to spin your wheels
