My Poor Car

Postby c2g » Fri Nov 08, 2002 6:00 pm

I was on my way home from work last night just drivin through downtown when some a$$hole pulls out of a parking spot on the side of the road and sideswipes me my car scratched and dented it all the way from the back tire to the edge of the front fender on my passenger side. He didn't even care he had some 30 year old pick up truck. He tried to blame me too

i think you should be ok..cause even if you had hit him, he was taking a turn out of a street and you had the right of way.

that's exactly what happened in my accident and couple of other people i know. even tho i did the actual hitting (as in my car collided w/ hers) she didn't yield to on coming traffic so she was found at fault automatically.

as long as the guy doesn't make some bogus lawsuit, you're golden. besides, it wouldn't make it far. how is he suppose to explain how you have a side collision and he has front end damage, yet you hit him??

c2g's accident is even more cut and dry. If the other guy was backing out of a parking spot, there is no way he could argue that it's c2g's fault, unless he was driving recklessly (>20mph over speed limit). Good luck on the case.

I'm almost 100% sure he is automatically at fault but he didn't have proof of insurance when the cops came. He got a nice little ticket for that. I'm going to get the police report today and the insurance guy is coming to look at it tomorrow. I can't stand to have to look at it everyday It's killin me. Oh yeah gunman it wasn't on broad st. and insurance isn't an option here.

isn't that the worst!! can u at least drive the car, or can u get a rental?

everyday i would wanna cry as i walked out my house to walk to the bus to go to work..for 3 frigin weeks in the hottest days of july and august i had to walk by that thing and walk to the bus one hour before my shift at work started when i usually only have to leave 15mins before if i'm gonna drive..i didn't even get the car for my 18th bday!! ahhhh

..lol..that's ok...just hang in there...it will be fixed and it will look beautiful!! you'll never be able to tell that there was ever an accident! you just have to do the all ultimate recovery of driving through that same spot...heheh..i call the intersection where i had my accident "THE intersections"...lol..it still sends chills up my spine when i pass thru it around the same time of night and it's the same kinda atmosphere as the accident.

c2g: f*ck that bastard.
some prick just did that to me too. but he banged me with. . .get this: a tow truck! THEN, he wanted me to drive out of my way to fix it at some ghetto body shop that his friend owns. (Waianae for those in Hawaii) after i got the "estimate" from his friend, i asked him to just pay me in cash instead, b/c i was gonna leave it at maaco anyway, so they could take care of the damage. the guy gave me like less than half of the amount and i'm still waiting for the rest! :2gunfire:
